OddsPeek vs the free sites

The free layer of this category is good now — better than most paid tools were five years ago. Before you pay anyone, including us, you should know what $0 covers. We checked.

What $0 genuinely gets you

  • ▸Dimers — a model win probability and edge score for every game, plus free prop pages.
  • ▸OddsShark — computer picks for every game, with a published last-100 record.
  • ▸Props Optimizer — hit-rate charts and price comparison across ten-plus books and DFS apps, paid for by ads.
  • ▸VSiN — DraftKings bet-percentage and money-percentage splits, refreshed every few minutes. Covers and VegasInsider carry line-movement history.
  • ▸StatMuse — any stat question, answered.
  • ▸FanDuel AceAI — a free generative-AI chat on FanDuel's own live lines, inside the app, nationwide since June 2026.
  • ▸r/sportsbook and the capper feeds — free picks, and a crowd that will tell you when you are wrong.

Best price across books and line history are commodities at $0. So are model picks with a record. If you already run those tabs and a devig sheet, the free layer plus your own time covers most of what any paid tool in this category sells — ours included.

What the free Gist adds, still at $0

  • ▸The whole slate on one screen, graded against itself. One model call reads every game on a board, so an A means "worth your time versus tonight's other games", not a number with no reference frame.
  • ▸A lean with three reasons on every game, each citing a number you can check against the feed on the same page.
  • ▸Injuries, probable starters, form and the posted line beside the read.
  • ▸Peek of the Day — one graded prop with its reasoning, free, every day.
  • ▸Full season game logs on every player page.
  • ▸Tomorrow's board, the night before.
  • ▸A slip-check page that shows the parlay hold on a worked example.
  • ▸No ads, and no account needed for any of it.

About the record

OddsShark publishes one and we do not, and you should know why. A record only means something with a timestamped ledger nobody can edit after the fact. We do not publish one, so we do not publish a rate — not a win rate, not an accuracy figure, not a units line.

What we do instead: every grade carries reasons with numbers you can check on the same page, and the Peek of the Day is posted to @OddsPeek before the game starts, where the box score settles it in public.

Who should pay nothing

If you already run those tabs and a devig sheet, keep doing that. A paid OddsPeek credential is for the person who will not — who wants the same job done on one screen with a reason attached, the best price named, and the parlay hold shown before the bet. The free Gist is the honest place to find out which person you are.

Check us before you pay us

The Gist is free on every game with no account. One free week of full access takes an email and no card, and ends on its own.
